He has been senior minister of Klein since June 2005. He served here once before as an Associate Minister (1984-1986). Before coming to Klein a second time, he was District Superintendent of the Beaumont District for five years. He has served on the Conference Board of Ordanined Ministry, has served as a Jurisdictional Delegate and as a Delegate to the Worl Methodist Conference. He also received the Bishops' Evangelism Award in 1995. He has a passion for growing persons into discipleship and believes that covenant groups with other persons keep us grounded in our faith.

He has embraced the concept of Wesley's concept: "The world is our parish." "The church's best moments are when they are lived out in the community, touching the hearts and livesof people where they work and live," Dr. Young remarked. Furthermore, he added, "We are living in an unprecedented time in which people are looking for deep answers to the questions of a rapidly changing culture on all fronts. Klein is an authentic voice that seeks to speak and listen to the needs of others, and offer them Christ in a heartfelt and genuine atmosphere, where realtionships are made and friendships are found."

A native of Houston, Tx, he graduated with honors from Waltrip High School, earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Houston, received a Masters Degree in Theology from Perkins School of Theology, SMU, and an earned Doctorate of Ministry Degree was conferred from Houston Graduate School of Theology.

He leads a 6:30 a.m. Men's Wednesday Morning Bible Study Breakfast at McDonald's across the street from the church.
